and gaining valuable skills and experience?

Who are the ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ Dream Promoters?

ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ students from all colleges and all disciplines who are passionate about making a difference in the community and want to become the next generation of thinkers, leaders, and problem-solvers who are successful at ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ, the workplace, and beyond!

Why would I want to be a Dream Promoter?

  • Build my community advocacy, workplace skills, and leadership abilities
  • Receive the ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ Dream Promoter Serviceship designation 
  • Network with ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ students and leaders at the university, in the community, and in local businesses in Jacksonville
  • Earn credit towards the Leadership minor at ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ
  • Influence the way community advocacy, leadership, and workplace development are viewed by
    ÃÛÌÒÊÓÆµ community

What does a Dream Promoter do?

  • Mentors Jacksonville’s children to help them reach their full potential
  • Commits to serving the community for two semesters
  • Earns $15 per hour
  • During the summer
    • Joins in Summer Connections Online Team Forum
      5 hours per week for 12 weeks
  • During the fall and SPRING semesters
    • Reads aloud and talks about books with small groups of children in local childcare centers
    • Works two 3-hour shifts
      Mon & Wed shift or Tues & Thur shift
      8:30am - 11:30am or 11:30am - 2:30pm 
    • Attends weekly 2-hour seminars
    • Works 3hrs + 3hrs + 2hrs = 8 hrs per week (minimum)
