Student Involvement

Important Update!
Recently, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security published a final rule establishing a fixed period of admission and a new extension of stay process for F students and J exchange visitors. The rule was originally scheduled to take effect on September 15, 2026. However, a federal district court in Massachusetts has temporarily postponed the rule’s effective date. The current duration-of-status admission remains in effect at this time.
To help you understand these changes and how they may affect your F/J status, the International Center has developed an FAQ.

 

International and domestic students at ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ are involved on-campus and in the community in a variety of ways. Whether you're a domestic student interested in meeting students from around the globe, or an international student wanting to explore the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ community and get involved, ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ has an opportunity for you!

International Ospreys

Mission

The mission of International Ospreys is to promote a global learning environment at the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ. Through programs and events, the organization aims to celebrate and showcase the rich cultural traditions of international students, while fostering communication and connections among students from various backgrounds.

Membership

Both international and domestic students are welcomed to join the International Ospreys or participate in any of the club's activities. Full membership shall be limited to registered students of the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ.

Activities

Each year the cabinet will organize at least 3 events through the semester and will participate in the organization of the Annual International Dinner Dance together with the International Center.

Community Outreach

ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ's Office of Service Learning and Civic Engagement encourages students to be active members of the greater Jacksonville and global community. They offer a variety of resources students can use to get involved in the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ community and beyond!
