Coggin Study Abroad

See the world. Build your career.

Business doesn’t stop at the border, and neither should your education. Through Coggin College of Business study abroad programs, you’ll spend a semester, a summer, or a shorter term learning in another country, studying how global companies operate while living in the culture that shapes them.

What you’ll gain.

Walk into an interview able to say you’ve worked across cultures, navigated unfamiliar markets, and adapted to new environments. Employers value those skills, and study abroad is one of the most direct ways to build them. Our programs are designed so your coursework counts toward your degree. Our team will help you plan ahead, so going abroad enriches your path to graduation instead of delaying it.

Ready to start?

Classes abroad challenge how you think. You’ll see business, economics, and everyday life through a different lens, and return with a sharper, more global point of view. Explore our destinations, meet with a study abroad advisor, or attend an upcoming info session. Your first step is closer than you think.

Applications for Spring 2027 micro-exchange programs and Summer 2027 exchanges are now open!

Getting Started

  • Explore Options

Find the program that fits you. With more than 40 programs across Europe, Asia, the Pacific Rim, Africa, and Central and South America, there’s a way to go abroad that works for your major, your schedule, and your budget.  Choose from

    • Destination: from Europe to Asia to Latin America and beyond
    • Timeframe: two years, a full semester, a summer, or a short-term course
    • Experience: coursework abroad, faculty-led study, or hands-on international business learning

    Questions to consider:

    • Why do I want to study abroad?  What are my goals?
    • What opportunities exist for my major?
    • What types of courses would I like to take?
    • How long would I like to be overseas?
    • Would I prefer to travel with a group of students or independently?
    • Which countries am I most/least interested in?
    • When would I prefer to study abroad?

Not sure where to begin? Coggin study abroad advisors can help you compare options and plan how your credits fit your degree. Click the links above to explore programs or schedule an appointment.

  • Application

Congratulations on choosing to study abroad! Check your program’s page for deadlines and key dates. For faculty-led programs, micro-exchanges, summer exchanges, and internships, apply directly on the program page. For semester or year exchanges, your Coggin study abroad advisor will guide you through the Coggin application process, then nominate you to the partner university.

Check your passport. If you don't have a passport, now is the time to apply. If you do have a passport, check it's expiration date. Passports must be valid for at least six months after the return date of your study abroad: for example, if you expect to return to the U.S. on June 15, your passport must be valid through December 15.

Before departure, you’ll also complete the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ International Center study abroad application. At that time, you will need to submit a passport scan, purchase the required international health insurance, and upload details, such as round-trip flight itinerary, your address abroad, and your visa (if required).

Don't forget the scholarships. Start with the International Business scholarships and funding page, and then branch out from there.  Be creative and extend your search as far as you can. The more opportunities you apply for, the more likely it is that you will receive financial support.

  • Get Ready

Register for your study abroad course. Each program has an attached ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ course. Add it to your schedule for the semester you’ll be abroad so your credit and financial aid stay on track.

Attend all pre-departure meetings. These are required. Faculty-led courses meet before departure (check your syllabus or the ÃÛÌÒÊÓƵ course schedule), and exchange programs hold one or two meetings the semester before you go. You’ll cover health and safety, conduct and academic expectations, costs and financial aid, cultural adaptation, and hear from students who’ve returned.

Submit one more application. Unless you've chosen a faculty-led program, you need to be registered at the host institution for your international program. Your Coggin study abroad advisor will help you through this final stage of applying.

Arrange final logistics for travel! Your host institution and your Coggin study abroad advisor or faculty leader will assist you in setting up the following:

    • Round-trip flight
    • Housing
    • Visa (typically needed for programs abroad longer than 90 days)
